M4 vs 1301.
The M2 is a hair shorter than the M4. In overall length, the Benelli M2 measures out to 39.75 inches. However, the M4 is a quarter inch longer making it 40 inches even. In terms of length, the M4 will win out by a slight margin. Not to be outdone, both of their barrels are 18.5 inches.
If you want the rugged combat utility and looks of the M4 without the price, the Beretta 1301 is also an option. However, it also has the same versatility limitations as the M4. The 1301 with these enhancements is a more usable and versatile shotgun than a box stock M4. The 1301 is a tarted up tactical hunting model. Between these two, as others have stated, the main difference is the weight, the other difference is the M4 has two small gas pistons while the Beretta has only one large piston. The Beretta will cycle much faster than the M4 as well.
The 1301 is much lighter, which can be plus for certain uses, but home defense isn’t one of them. It’s also quite a bit cheaper, locally the 1301 is $1100 and the M4 is $1800, if money is at all a concern get the 1301, it’s an amazing gun.
