C308 Handguard replacement? I finally got my Century Arms C308 to the range last week and put about 60 rounds through it at 100 yards. I love the gun, it shoots great, handling and accuracy are awesome. Only thing I noticed which was a little disconcerting was that the handguard got pretty warm after about 10-20 rounds.C308 receivers are made by PTR. PTR did a lot of work on the C308 so I find it funny when people talk about how shitty the C308 is compared to the PTR. CAI never ground a bolt head either. The ground bolt heads arrived inside the kits from Spain. I've bought a couple of those receivers on Gunbroker, they're fine.

Jul 1, 2022 · I've gone from the stock poly setup that came with my C308, to the complete surplus G3 "green" setup, to a M4 telescoping stock setup (did not look good on the C308, but looks/works great on my PTR91), and now settled on a complete swap to CETME furniture, after buying the Cetme C Factory Parts Kit from Centerfire Systems.

The C308 is heavy but has easily manageable recoil which is comparable to the PTR91. It shoots well while standing as the weight and light recoil contributes to quick follow up shots. You can buy well used parts kits right now for spare bolts, carriers, furniture, etc. for a whopping $125 when they go on sale ($150 if not on sale).

Dec 26, 2018 · Nice looking rifle. I bought a used c308 in May and put wood on it before I even shot it. The rifle has good bolt and ct gap and is a pleasure to shoot. I think while I can still get one I want another HK 91 copy I wish I could afford a real HK 91 .I like the century arms 308 I bought but after changing the trigger housing and forend that's a pain .There are a bunch of real wide forends but the metal trigger guards dried up except ones not pinned and ...
