Doesn't the BX1880 have an adjustment to how far the deck raises by turning a nut on the linkage connecting the 3PH to the deck lift hardware. Should be right behind the rear left wheel. My BX24 has a double nut on a linkage rod that will allow the mower to raise more or less & release pressure so the knob will turn easier.See if it's moving with the 3PH. If it is, trace it to under the tractor (if you can with the deck mounted - otherwise you may need to remove it to check the rest of the linkage). That's all I can think of off the top of my head.
