Life on easy mode means just picking one thing off the pile and focusing on that. Then the next thing off the pile. Take a breath, and focus on one thing. Do focus sessions to get stuff done: Set up 1-3 sessions each day where you focus on one important task. Set a timer for an hour.First, acknowledge your fear. This is a huge first step. If you do just this today, you’ve done something great. Many of us have these fears, but they are at the back of our mind, unnoticed, unacknowledged, as we try to ignore them and pretend they’re not there. But they are there.Try viewing the tasks this way, and see how things feel. Practice this as often as you can, so that slowly you start to shift your relationship to the tasks, and your default view of the tasks. If you feel overwhelm again, no problem – just remind yourself of your new view and practice this way.When I have fewer things, I can really use those things fully, appreciating them fully. When I have fewer things to do, I can really pour myself into those tasks, and really experience them. When I engage with fewer things online, I can engage with them more thoughtfully.
